Covid 19 Update
As some of you will know the government started a 6 month extension on expiring mots during lock down back in March. This has caused an influx of mot tests required over the last couple of months. On top of this 47% of vehicles tested failed due to either not being inspected for an extra 6 months or vehicles sitting idle for long periods of time. This is a massive 15% higher than normal. This extra workload has led to some early starts and late nights to enable us to keep as many people on the road as possible. I would like to thank all our customers for being very patient with us during this extra busy time and apologise for any inconveniences caused by any delays. We always try very hard here at Cole and Miller to keep our customers happy and safe, and will continue to do so what ever life throws at us. We will be staying open during this second period of lockdown and working Mon-Fri as normal. Unfortunately we are staying closed on Saturdays for the foreseeable but we are still offering collection and delivery services for those of you that cannot get here during the week due to work commitments. Thank you again for your patients and cooperation. Stay safe everyone.
Want more power or mpg? how about both??
Cole & Miller Automotives now do remapping. All vehicle's manufactured since 1999 are controlled by an onboard computer, which is known as the Engine Control Unit (ECU). The ECU controls a multitude of different engine functions such as ignition timing, fuelling and turbo boost pressure. Within this computer a file stores the manufacturers settings that have been fixed to allow for build tolerances into their engines and to comply with emission targets, cope with sub-standard fuels found in some countries, operate in areas with extreme environments and allow for some owners irregular service standards and intervals. We can access these settings usually via a 16 pin port inside the vehicle and adjust them to give you a more tailored map. This can give you gains of up to 35% in power and torque and 20% better fuel economy. Please visit our website remapping page for more details.

New R1234yf air conditioning gas services at CMA.
Due to the impact on the environment, the old R134a refrigerant gas is now being replaced by the new R1234yf gas on all new cars. The process for servicing your a/c system is the same as the old gas, but it needs to be charged using a new service station. Due to demand at the end of last year we have decided to purchase the new machine in able to offer our customers an on going complete service. These two gasses are not compatible so vehicles with the old gas still have to be serviced using the old service station. The price of this new gas is significantly higher than the old gas at the moment but over time this will level out. For more info on which gas your vehicle has or for any air conditioning queries please don't hesitate to give us a call.
